I can’t help but wonder, do you actually have anything favorable that you can say about your own religious beliefs or does your self-esteem hinge on what you can say about the beliefs of others?
In spite of that being a very peculiar question, I will offer the following: The Scriptures of the Old Testament(the long established Torah, the Writings, the Prophets of the nation Israel) and the generally accepted New Testament (consisting of the 27 letters and journals commonly accepted) contain the sum and substance of my “religious beliefs”. I am a biblicist.
Although, unlike the Vatican’s organization, the believers belonging to Jesus Christ do not rely upon “religion”. We have long ago been freed from that errant paradigm. We don’t need incantations, chants, meaningless repetitions, or other such props (hail Mary’s, Our Fathers, Gregorian chants, etc.) We don’t need other men to grant absolution, we don’t need a sacerdotal structure to perform priestly work. All that is gone, replaced by our One High Priest, Jesus.
Those of us captured by Christ have found that the message of our rescue spelled out clearly in the Scriptures is more than sufficient to occupy our hearts and minds. We have only One advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. And we rejoice having been found in Him, not having a righteousness of our own, but clothed in His perfect holiness. And there is now no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus. We would enjoy explaining how this is so utterly different than “the Roman Catholic Religion”. Interested?
