“I am amazed that a Christian would ask such a question.”

“I thought I'd seen everything.”

Well, what are the consequences? The colleges, run by the religious, don't seem to fear the “disapproval” of the Bishops. Their flouting the teaching of the church is without fear of being excommunicated since all they get from the Bishops is talk.

No politician or celebrity in recent memory has been excommunicated for flouting the teaching of the church so why should any young person, who by nature thinks he/she is immortal, fear the Bishops?

Notre Dame has for years performed the “Vagina Monologues”, and for years the Bishops have complained, and they still go on. No wonder Notre Dame gave honor to Obama is spite of the “disapproval” of the Bishops; the Bishops have shown themselves spiritual eunuchs when it comes to church discipline.

So I ask again, so what? There are no consequences for flouting the church teaching.

Notre Dame and other such schools are PRIVATELY OWNED (not owned by the Church). That some have embraced secularism is beyond dispute. This is not dissimilar from the fate that beheld formerly pious Protestant schools like Harvard, Yale and Princeton.

Well, what are the consequences?

The wages of sin are death.

How can you not know this?
