The people who are most against this book being part of the curriculum strike me as pretty selfish and incapable of critical thinking.Give these kids some credit, please. They've graduated high school and made it to college; some level of maturity and intelligence must be in order.

Uh, I teach university students, and I beg to differ with the person who posted this comment in the article. Each year, I have less and less respect for high school diplomas. College diplomas, too, hardly mean squat in many instances. I have seniors who can barely construct a sentence. Affirmative action has ruined many institutions.
