Harley, I was greatly disappointed in the quality of your response. Somehow, I expected more vulnerable, open-minced candor, from you.

I can’t manage a full-blown response here at the reunion.

However, I asure you that you have NOT been in the kind of service Tenney described.

You may have been in various levels & flavors of hokey Pentecostal/Charismatic services.
However, you have NOT been in a service where the POWERFUL OVERWHELMING PRESENCE OF GOD.

I’ve never known ANYONE who has been in such a service to come away unchanged of disbelieving in such a move of God. No one.

That was true in Scripture—in terms of intense ENCOUNTERS WITH GOD. It is true now.

Believing “in” Christ Jesus our Lord is not believing “of” him. Even the demons believe of him. In him is being “in” the vine, we are the branches. The sap of grace flows from the vine into us the branches. Being “in” Christ is experiencing him in an intimate way. Only those born again understand this. This is a true now and "being" mode. Not a wanting or having or doing mode. We only truly rest “in” him.

Quix, I didn't mean to offend but don't you see something wrong with this statement. I would suggest that you should have a powerful overwhelming presence of God every day. You simply need to be still. The best time I sense God's presence is in looking at the sunrise or the stars. He is always near to us.
