In regard to the Memorial service today in LA for Michael Jackson, as I watched the service I was overwhelmed with grief over the hopelessness, the false comfort, all the lies and deceit, the illusions and delusions, and all of the wishful thinking and erroneous expectations in the light of the awesome realities of Time and Eternity.
Great achievements and worldly success bring absolutely no merit or redemptive qualities in light of our fallen humanity (Romans 3:23; Ephesians 2:8-9). The absolute bankruptcy of humanity dictates its greatest need for the righteous perfection demanded by our Divine Creator - Almighty God. Selah! The humanly moral standards of the Music industry, Hollywood and the rest of world do not match the Eternal standard of Almighty God (Isaiah 53:6, Roms. 3:23).

Why did you watch it in the first place? You must have known what it was going to be all about.
OBJECTIVE?
Laughable.
IGNORANT?
You betcha. Bottom line, NO ONE knew the heart of MJ, but MJ and our creator. So you and so many other Christian naysayers might want to prepare yourselves for the possibility that you just may find yourself sharing eternal life with MJ.
He died a mulsim.
God's assessment was need in light of all this hub bub..
I do not know the condition of his eternal soul ( since I know I am NOT God). But I do know that his life was a tragedy and the last thirty years a wasteland of addiciton. No amount of honey during the “service” will discount that.
Good for you.
and he who is without sin may cast the first stone.
If you took those Bible passages in context you would understand the Hypocrisy of those who are trying to exploit the woman (John 8) to destroy Jesus. Jesus stated to Judge righteously, objectively in light of truth and reality i.e., Almighty God's Word.
For the record I am a Sinner!...Who has received God's Savior...The Lord Jesus Christ. That's what life is all about my dear friend..
Take the challenge and see what God's Word has for you! Then you will understand!

All of God's highest and best for you my friend,

Also by the way I am a huge Red Sox fan since I was in the crib and Love Ted Williams - #9

I would love nothing better. He did have a couple of meetings with Christian singer, Andrae Crouch, so who knows what may have transpired between then and the time of his death. I pray he IS in heaven.
Almighty God is So gracious and willing that none be lost and has no pleasure even in the death of the wicked. That's why John 3:16 rings so loudly of Almighty God's great eternal Love which wants nothing but the highest and best for all his creation. It is our choice but to believe!
I came out of this industry (Music etc..) I should have been dead years ago.. but God in his great mercy and grace was long suffering to me and 18 years ago I received Him into my heart as my Savior. Believe me.. I know of the saving grace of Almighty God and His wonderful forgiveness found in Jesus Christ!!! If MJ wanted that in his last breaths God would have been there and saved him as the thief on the cross was.
I pray it was so. To God be The Glory!
David
Indeed! God doesn’t want any one of us to perish. He is more than willing to save us when we ask Him to. I pray that was the case with Michael. Otherwise, his earthly life was a piece of cake compared to what may lie ahead for him.
I believe he was always searching for God. He was a Jehovah’s Witness, then became entangled with Islam, and I know he spoke with Andrae Crouch before he died. I pray he did come to peace with God. I’d be interested in hearing more about that. Thanks for sharing this.
Yes, he was confused and had many deep-rooted issues stemming from an abusive, abnormal upbringing, but as Marysecretary said, I think he was always searching for God. If you read quotes of his, he had always believed in God and seemed to be a spiritual person, but the problem was he was brought up to believe false doctrines and he had so many personal problems that he was lost for many years.
But that doesn't mean he didn't find God before he died. Look at the theif of the cross story - he had faith in his last hour, and there was no time for him to show "fruits" in his life, but Jesus said I will see you in paradise. I think (and hope) that it was the same for MJ. If the story my roommate told me is true, then he, according to a pastor she talked to recently, was very interested and asking questions about God and Christianity before he died, and got saved, not long before his death. I know it sounds incredible, but hey, his whole entire story is crazy and hard to believe!
Nothing is impossible. My husband prayed for a man in a coma on his hospital bed and the man woke up, accepted Christ as his saviour, and went back into the coma. An old Baptist minister in the next bed witnessed it. So we can’t discount last minute conversions.
I read that. They said that he didn’t say the sinners prayer..but was asking questions kind of..
