Anchorage, AK (Catholic Anchor) – At the end of this month, Father Leo Walsh heads to Washington, D.C. to begin a new job that deals with some of the roots of age-old human conflicts.

Born, raised and ordained to the priesthood in Alaska, Father Walsh will leave his home state to work for at least three years with the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, where his primary task will be to facilitate greater understanding between Catholics and Muslims across the country.

Setting the table

As associate director for the Secretariat for Ecumenical and Interreligious Affairs, Father Walsh will do much of the legwork in bringing religious leaders together to address issues, both theological and practical.

Muslims aren't interested in "dialogue"...and the sooner the rest of the non-Muslim world realizes that, the better.

Sooner or later, we are gonna have to give the muzzies the Jihad they so desperately want.

Semper Fi,
Kelly

They are quick to tell you they “revere” Jesus too. An eternal difference between revering and worshiping.

“...greater understanding between Catholics and Muslims across the country...”

They will work with this priest until the opportunity changes - then they rid themselves of his presence...Islam is nothing more than the evil one’s counter answer to the true savior and Son of God, Jesus Christ - it was established by a person who’s mother was ingrained in sorcery and was possessed to vomit out his so-called prophecy...nothing more than that!

In time, the priest will realize this as the rest of us have while serving in the desert wasteland we call Babylon...

Communication with Islam is always to their advantage. We relent (submit) and they move forward.

Expect a Neville Chamberlainesque understanding to be reached.

Note to Father Walsh....Father,I understand the Religion of Pieces quite well, thank you,as does your Master.I came to understand it on 9/11...and while watching some of the many beheading videos one can see on the internet....and while watching women who had had the misfortune of being raped then be hanged for "immorality"....and while reading of the many "honor" murders that occur in the US,Europe and elsewhere.

I encourage you,Father Walsh,to devote your efforts to *calling* these 9th Century heathens to real salvation.Or at least to call them to join the 21st Century.

I don’t get this “dialogue” business between religions. What is there to talk about other than to condemn as “fanatics” those few remaining religionists who actually take their beliefs seriously?

The article is interesting but nowhere does it state his qualifications for this post. My pastor, on the other hand, is from the Middle East, fluent in Arabic and has read the Qu'uran. Out of curiosity, he has attended several local 'christian/muslim' dialogues where he used the Q & A session to challenge the misleading lies from the Muslim speaker. He left one Muslim speaker red cheeked and stammering. After that, they would no longer accept his questions ;-)

Catholics in the Middle East don't dialogue with Muslims. They work through gov't to ensure equal rights for both. They make converts through example, by living truly christian lives.

I am with you, interfaith dialogue changes nothing. Take the Rod Parsley approach and fight Islam head on.

He's become another desk pilot, in other words.

They've taken a man out of pastoral ministry, put him behind a desk and given him some nebulous job description.

Waste of a good priest.
