New atheist summer camp launched
An atheist summer camp for children set up in Somerset is to offer a "godless alternative" to religious camps.
The 24 places on Camp Quest UK, which will be held next month near Bath, have already been booked up.
Organisers said the purpose of the camp was to encourage critical thinking and provide children with a summer camp "free of religious dogma".
The camp, supported by scientist Richard Dawkins, plans to expand after receiving hundreds of inquiries.
The event has been set up by Samantha Stein, a postgraduate psychology student from London. She said: "It is not about changing what they think, but the way that they think. "There is very little that attacks religion, we are not a rival to religious camps. "We exist as a secular alternative open to children from parents of all faiths and none."

It is just me or are the very same atheists who accuse religious parents of being "child abusers" for raising their children according to their faith the very same atheists who then turn around and raise their children according to the lack of faith?
Duh Huh!! Yup Yup yup!! Thems the ones!!
Dumbest idea for a camp ever!
If it’s just about critical thinking than why not just call it “Logic Camp”?
This has anti-religious indoctrination written all over it.
The atheists run amok over there. Vocal atheism. It's one of their default categories if you don't login and remove it.
Things I learned at Atheist Camp:
1. Grandma’s just dead.
2. I have no intrinsic worth.
3. Jesus didn’t love me because he is just a historical Jewish rabbi if not an apocryphal amalgam of folkolre and ancient Egyptian myth.
4. That feeling in the back of my skull that there must be something beyond what we humans know an understand is just a chemical reaction in my brain.
5. Religion caused all wars, except the ones that atheism caused.
6. Everything is relative which is helpful because I just killed my neighbor’s cat.
7. Who needs God when you have global warming and Barack Obama.

“Children! Come outside and check out this BEAUTIFUL sunset!
er... on second thought, quick! Everyone into cabin 12 for more Video Games!”
Who is she kidding? The children in this camp will be the children of atheists. They will not benefit from any attempt to convice them that there is no God. Their parents already believe that. I doubt the families send the kids to Sunday school and I haven't heard about mandatory religious education in England, at least not for the past several hundred years. The organizers' statements create the impression of serious paranoai.
Luke 17:2
" It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck and he were thrown into the sea, than that he would cause one of these little ones to stumble
Their place in hell will be lower than Hitler.
“Dumbest idea for a camp ever!”
Reminds me of what Vox Day stated about Dawkins’ targeting colleges with his “Out Campaign”:
“Its like the Campus Crusade for Cthulhu, only sillier.”
Ok, let us take a moment to consider that Camp Quest is a serious enterprise.
As per usual, the media is not doing its job.
They are simply, uncritically and un-journalistically accepting whatever selling points, whatever PR talking points that Camp Quest promulgates.
Yet, this is all part of Dawkins tactic of having society stepping in to stop religious parents from doing so and his hopes that this might lead children to choose no religion at all.
There are good dissections of Camp Quest, its PR side and its true underbelly here:
