"Do this in memory of me." Do what? Eat Him again? Sacrifice Him again? Behold Him physically again?

No.

By partaking in the Lord's Supper we are told to remember His one-time sacrifice on the cross for all the sins of His flock which has effectively freed them from the penalty of sin by giving His righteousness to them through faith.

This gracious act of selfless love is then spiritually taken in during the Lord's Supper, and we are better Christians for it.

But our salvation has already been won at Calvary; it is not recurring on golden altars surrounded by wooden statues and "other Christs." Flee from idolatry.

What Christ did in the verses just below: partake of Holy Eucharist, His one-time sacrifice on Calvary for our salvation.
