That’s pretty much my take as well. And since “heaven” is described as eternal “life” and Hell as “death”. It looks like Hell is the equivalent of “dead” - and “dead” means ceasing to exist. Can one live (be aware) outside the presence of God?

I have heard that being eternally separated from God is spiritual death...
even if our bodies die.. our spirits live on for eternity either in heaven or hell...
