What I find interesting about the hawks screech is instinctively on the farm all the chickens and other fowl would head for cover instantly..The first time I heard one I couldn't find any of my birds...and its the only time I saw my turkeys twist their heads to look up... the females were under the their house (it was up on cement blocks ) and the males were nervous but didn't hide.
That hawk was up so high you couldn't make out what kind it was, but its screech was awesome and to some animals frightening...
