Abbey, pre-med biochemistry major, in The Village of Hope Orphanage, Ghana, Africa during her World Wide Witness Internship, Summer 2006.
Abbey said, there are over "12 million orphans in Sub-Sahara Africa calling out for love." Torn by civil wars, disease, and political and economic havoc, too many African adults are dying and unable to support the logarithmic increase of orphans who are left to fend for themselves. Abey went on to say, "Never did I imagine how much I would learn over the course of a six-week internship." We worked in the school at the orphanage, observed at the health clinic, and lead children's church.
Abbey encourages us all when she said, Good works have been prepared in advance for us to do if we will only be courageous enough to do them.
