248. But a re-formed Church is not a new Church.

Protestantism was not a true reformation of the Church. The identity of the Church is indissolubly linked with a continuous identity of doctrine, worship, and discipline. The so-called Reformation involved the abolition of essential doctrines, worship, and discipline, substituting completely different and humanly invented alternatives.

The argument that the Catholic Church as with Protestantism surrounds the traditions of Men. Protestants, by and large, except the Bible as the Word of God whose sole purpose is to save the souls of men.

Is the Catholic Church's purpose any different?

Does the Catholic Church accept the Bible as the Word of God as well?

Then my question to Catholics would be why the need to besmirch Protestants?

Jesus, when his disciples came and told him about others who were preaching in his Name, but were not apart of the apostles basically told the disciples to leave them be.

Do we not seek the same goal the salvation of men by the same method, repentence and faith in Jesus Christ and his sacrifice?

Nothing is personal, we are discussing truths.
