The moral argument for capitalism and free markets arises from the general case for human freedom. Alternatives to capitalism require coercion, often in brutal form, and tend to empower the worst aspects of human nature. Genuinely capitalist countries leave the Church and Christianity free to proselytize and practice, while, to one degree or another, socialist movements and countries are hostile to Christianity and seek to undermine or suppress it when they come to power.
