Being female I know how the LDS church treats us. Good Luck in Eternity as a Mormom .... as the Apostle Paul said: There is no blood on my hands ... I have told you ...
Come on, quit dodging the direct question: what is the archeological evidence for Moses?
None? Really?
I guess we accept Moses on faith?
and there is evidence for the Book of Mormon. You are out of date.
Not only the difference between the Christian Jesus and the Mormon Jesus but also God Himself ....
Why so worried? Aren’t you guys the ones who claim God preserved his word perfectly for 2000+ years. Do you think one Mormon is more powerful than God, or do you just not really believe your own claims?
Good Luck in Eternity as a Mormom ....

Please read my tagline.
I am no longer LDS. I was saved by grace through faith in the work of Christ on the Cross several years ago.
Sorry - it was to that other poster ....
You are the one that keeps dodging the question. And your argument is a straw man.
There is evidence for the presence of Jews in Egypt at the time of Moses. There is mountains of evidence for trade routes and exiles. There are coins, cities, external documents, ad infinitum for the BIBLE. Check out Bill Dever and Josh McDowell for a start.
SHOW ME ONE PIECE OF EVIDENCE FOR ANYTHING IN THE BOM. IT CANNOT BE DONE.
Worried? No. It’s more akin to disgust mingled with anger.
What dog do you have in this hunt? The objectification of saying “your claims” implies that you’re neither Christian nor an observant Jew. Perhaps you’re atheist.
Correct?
I am a Christian, Mormon to be precise. The ‘you’ is traditional Christians. It just seems very contradictory for traditional Christians to claim on one hand that God preserved the Bible perfectly all this time, and then get all bent out of shape over something like this.
The guy is a scholar, he got the job on the merits of his past work and all this fear is just a reflection of religious prejudice IMHO.
If it was a Jew picked to do this would there be a big debate here about him potentially producing a work biased against Christianity? Somehow I don’t think so, and I suspect if anybody tried something like that they would be banned pronto. Not so for Mormons it appears.
I wonder if TPTB will ban me for getting ‘uppity’ like this.
Nobody gets banned for religious views here, Grig. You haven’t been listening to that paranoiac, banned former FReeper with “the list,” have you? You’ve been here since ‘99, according to your profile. This is an open thread, and acrimoniousness is not necessarily encouraged, but it is to be expected. Avoid personal attacks, and all is well.
As far as any reason for concern over this new translation, there is ample history of self-serving edits and “translations” of the Bible in Mormonism. It’s there for all to see, who care to look. The faithful point that out and correct it, with condemnation of those who go against God’s specific instructions in order to do so. That’s one of the reasons the Bible has remained true to the Word of God for as long as it has, and is one of the reasons it will remain true.
So, there are Hebrew scholars outside of BYU who will publicize any peculiarities or biases in this. That’s all I’m saying.
Since you fail to produce any proof for Moses, why should I go to the trouble of gathering evidence for something you won’t believe anyway.
Grow some skin or leave the thread. If you stay, stop making it personal.
There is no proof for Moses and much proof of the Book of Mormon.
If the robust "town square" style of confrontational religious debate is causing you to become and stay angry (thin skin) then either you need to grow some skin or ignore open threads altogether until you can weather the storm.
There are plenty of thread types - prayer, devotional, ecumenical - where you can find "safe harbor" from confrontation about your religious beliefs.
LOL
I take it that is a personal comment?
That is an interesting link. Thanks for posting it, I’m adding it to the files I keep. BUt it is indeed sad that certain ‘haters’ will refuse to go read the data even as they demand proof of Moses existence as some strawman defense of the heresies in mormonism.
LOL ... lol
