Catholics United , falsely promotes itself as authentically and faithfully Catholic while using this deception to assail pro-life politicians who oppose health care and welfare initiatives sponsored by the pro-abortion political left while giving cover to pro-abortion politicians for decidedly non-Catholic stances on the far more important right to life issues. Catholics United - not to be confused with the Steubenville, OH based Catholics United for the Faith or any group that actually defends Catholic doctrines from political assault - originally began in 2004 as the Catholic Voting Project, a supposedly non-partisan group whose thinly-veiled primary objective was to convince faithful Catholics that they could in good conscience vote for John Kerry. The group changed its name to Catholics United in 2005, and has ever since devoted itself to promoting a social justice agenda that is in keeping with the tenets of liberation theology.

Excuse me, but there is no such thing as a Pro-Obama Catholic. They are mutually exclusive terms.

A sage person once told me “you are Catholic or your not.”

One thing that always stuck with me through my CCD teachings was that Catholics are all united by common doctrine. When other faiths question Catholics about the tenets of their faith, Catholics can answer assuredly since their doctrine has been relatively unchanged for 2000 years. Ask a Baptist, Presbyterian, Lutheran, etc. what the tenets of their religion mean or from when they’re based, and you’ll likely get an answer after 1050 AD that’s a little fuzzy around the edges. Thank King Henry VIII for his transgressions.

No proper Catholic would EVER associate with or support a pro-choice candidate for public office. This whole thing smells like the bad meat I almost cooked for dinner last night.

They're a big part of the CINO problem as it's morphed into today. The media likes Catholics like Biden and Kerry and Pelosi who they think are 'smart' and 'tolerant' enough to pick and choose at the Catholic Cafeteria. They haven't read their memos - Pope Benedict XVI closed that cafeteria, so they keep pushing their 'ideals', hoping ignorance is bliss and more of us Catholics will come on over to the CINO side.

Tenets of Liberation Theology - that phrase almost needs a 'barf' alert. Liberation theology - destroying faith and leading thousands astray, paving the way for all out socialism the world over. We have our work cut out for us. Thank God for Bishops who speak out against it and Ewtn and solid Catholic universities.
