We are supposed to be "the middle way" between papal Roman Catholicism (which we high church types lean) and mainstream protestantism. However, if these types of apostate priestly happenings occur much longer I'm bailing and will have to somehow swallow my revulsion for papal infallibility and Marian philosophy to join the RCs.

Or . . . you could check out the Lutherans. Some of us would probably fit what you would be looking for.

That's certainly a valid alternative!

Not having a German background (although I studied German for 10 years and have lived in Germany); having always believed in the Real Presence in the Catholic sense; and having the misfortune of living in an area where most of the Lutheran churches are outrageously liberal -- it didn't work out for me.

Perhaps...I see little difference in what Christ experienced when he whipped the money changers from the temple (this very week some 2000 years ago) and what Martin Luther experienced in Rome when indulgences were sold by John Tetzel under the direction of Pope Leo X
