Maybe if the Churches would get out of politics and get back to preaching this will be reversed. Too much reliance on Caesar to pass laws.

If people do not fear God, then the culture will disintegrate.

This is NOT the “liberals’ fault.” There isn’t anyone in the world who could pry me away from the Church. If I leave God, it’s MY fault and He knows it.

Or maybe the church needs to get get back into politics. Maybe one of the reasons that people leave that church—that it is so unattractive to our young people—is that it appears so powerless.

And when the threat comes from the government, and it will come, that they are going to take away our tax exempt status we just might see the largest tax revolt since the founding of the country.

Or maybe we're to far gone for this already.

The percentage of self-identified Christians has fallen 10 points in the past two decades

Self Identified Christians?
You mean like Obama and Pelosi? These people are not Christians just because they say they are. Real Christians are likely 50% or less of Americans at present.

It’s a strange self righteous yet defensive tone this liberal article takes. Liberals know somewhere they are wrong but they keep persecuting others and themselves nevertheless into their nonsense.

Note also the false charity tone of it all. They talk of CHristian domination but they hardly talk of other faiths as something they’d embrace, but as weird cults and poverties which seem to frighten them. To lop Christianity within these poorer religions is typical materialist lusty behavior for modern niceties: as if genetics persecuted them and blackmailed them to material submissions that allowed them to ignore their worst persecutions to neighbors and unborn.

Last but not least, faith for life is not an illusion, for illusion is a false life and a death by definition. They confuse faith and superstition because they seek superstitious means devoid of understanding of things like courage.

I don't care if the percentage of American calling themselves Christian has decline 10% or a 100%. Doesn't matter to me. The only thing that matters to me, is when He, Jesus the Christ comes back.

Then, we will see the "true pucker factor," of the masses of nonbelievers.

It’s always been easy to say, “Yes, I am a Christian”...but the more unpopular it gets to really be one, the harder it will be to find one. When the weather gets bad, the fair-weather “Christians” will disappear to their places of safety.

A lot of this destruction has occurred within the churches. Liberals have taken over one denomination after another. People have left the church they grew up in and have not found a new home. The Episcopal Church alone has lost half its membership while the population overall has soared. One denomination could account for several of those lost percentages. The Methodists and Presbyterians are hemorraghing because the people at the top are liberal committed to destroying the faith. The collapse of mainline Protestantism, in a word,is behind this decline. These churches stopped proclaiming the Gospel and stopped demanding anything of their members. So members left.
