AU and ACLU Say Funds for Religious Univ. Unconstitutional

By Americans United - 2 Hours Ago

The Supreme Court of Kentucky should strike down a $10 million state appropriation for a university affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention, says Americans United for Separation of Church and State.

Americans United has filed a friend-of-the-court brief along with the American Civil Liberties Union of Kentucky challenging tax funding of the University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, Ky.

“The Kentucky Constitution is clear on this matter,” said the Rev. Barry W. Lynn, executive director of Americans United. “Tax money may not be used to subsidize religious schools. We expect the court to uphold that important principle.” Contin: http://www.opposingviews.com/articles/opinion-au-and-aclu-say-funds-for-religious-univ-unconstitutional

One might wonder where were they when the Madrassi school was opened in Brooklyn. The attack on Christianity continues.

“AU and ACLU Say Funds for Religious Univ. Unconstitutional”

Sorry I cut off the most important word. The left use “Unconstitutional” for their own convenience - a reason they refer to it as a living document. One rule for thee and another for me.

This is nothing more than restructuring the country. Religious people are taxed and their money used to denigrate their beliefs.

The “Reverend” Lynn is an ordained minister in the United Church or Christ and is considered theologically “liberal” according to his wikipedia entry (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barry_W._Lynn).

Apparently, he has also not pastored a church since about 1970. Probably inconvenient to his life's ambition of driving religion and specifically, Christianity, out of every nook and corner of the public square.

Can't link into the AU website. Is AU equally aggressive against Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus and Jews??

They thought nothing about using our tax dollars to build a Madras for Muslims in Brooklyn with a principal up to her eyes in Hamas and Hezbollah.
