One of my most mortifying moments.
I was in the bank the day after Ash Wednesday, the teller had a dark smudge on her forehead. I said “Wasn’t Ash Wednesday yesterday?”
She replied “It is a birthmark.”
Ouch.
Aren’t our brains great? One little moment like that and you can make yourself cringe every time you think of it for the rest of your life...and it was entirely innocent. The average person must have hundreds, thousands of such incidents stored up during a lifetime...no wonder we go crazy.
OMG. My sympathies. That's the kind of stuff that happens to me...
"When are you due?" is another polite question that should never be asked... :-)
I asked a woman if she was pregnant once. Turned out she was just grossly overweight.
