Did the petition and also e-mails.
What an utter disgrace.
Good one.
Theme of the speech? Post-birth abortion.
A high-profile speech at a major Catholic university! This will give him a chance to explain why he supports throwing babies in the trash if they happen to survive an abortion. I can't wait to hear his reasons!

I signed the petition and sent this to Father Jenkins’ email address.
Dear Father Jenkins,
As a Catholic citizen who advocates for pro-life legislation, I beseech you to rescind the invitation to speak at commencement ceremonies offered to President Obama. His advocacy for unrestricted abortion rights is in direct conflict with the catechetical teachings of the Catholic Church.
If indeed the Notre Dame community has decided to align itself with a worldview counter to that espoused by our Church on such a core issue, than the time has come to cut the cord through and through. And if this is the case, please change the name of the university so that there is no confusion about what the university stands for.

Magnificent, Coleus. I am spreading your links far and wide!
I know; see post 97
This comes right back to the US Catholic bishops (with a few notable exceptions) and their long standing insipid response to the abortion question.
No wonder Catholics are generally doing pretty poorly when it comes to understanding their faith. What is Obama’s teleprompter going to talk about, the importance of abortion on demand? Or how the envy of entrepreneurs can lead to policies that destroy business as well as destroy the economy?
I am disappointed and dismayed that the Catholic priest who is the President of Notre Dame would invite a noted late term abortion supporter should be honored with an honorary degree and give the commencement speech. As a Catholic I am ashamed that Notre Dame has made this decision.
Un Freakin believable don’t ya think??? I would think that this has something to do with Federal Money, ya think?
I haven’t read the thread, I truly hope I’m not being redundant!
