You were saying ...

However, this puts a whole new light on the matter.

Yes it does. It "brings it home" much more solidly now, than just talking about the possibility or the liklihood of something like this happening.

For example, I can talk about the Temple Institute and its plans for rebuilding the Temple, but others can dismiss that as just a fringe group, having no meaning in the Jewish state over there in Israel.

And while someone could say that about this, too... still, it's a significant progression towards exactly what the Bible says about the sacrifices being stopped by the Antichrist (i.e., they have to "start" in order to be "stopped" doncha know... :-) ...).

I mentioned this up above, already, but I'll put it in here again... There were several posts in this prayer thread, "Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem"...

See Post #11, which gives a "visual" on how the scenario in Revelation can be fulfilled, according to what we are told there.

Also, note Post #22, which gives a statement from the Temple Institute, who has made a lot of preparations for the coming Temple.

And lastly, see Post #30, for the implements for the Temple, that the Temple Institute has already constructed and are "ready-to-go"... :-)

We Christians believe that Jesus’ Blood was shed Once and For All.

Yes, this is basic Christian doctrine and even those Christians who don't go along with certain prophetic events (as we do and as we see in the Bible), do recognize and teach this. And that is why we, as Christians, do not have these animal sacrifices right now.

BUT, I should mention that it's "this thing" (of animal sacrifices) -- that is why some disagree with the teaching that we get from the Bible in that there will be animal sacrifices during the 1,000 year reign of Jesus, the Messiah of Israel, on this earth.

There's that Temple described in Ezekiel that will be built by the Messiah of Israel (not this one which will be built during the 7-year Tribulation, which will be the Third Temple). That Temple in Ezekiel will be the Fourth Temple, and it will have animal sacrifices, not for purposes of a temporary covering for sin, but for commemorating what Jesus, the Messiah of Israel did.

Now, because pretty much all of Christianity recognizes that animal sacrifices have been superceded by Christ's sacrifice on the cross, this has lead some other Christians to criticize the fact that there will be animal sacrifices during the Millennial reign of the Messiah on this earth. They say it's not legitimate and therefore proves that someone is whacko in their thinking in regards to this scenario of the Millennial reign and the rebuilt Temple (in Ezekiel).

But, from what I've read about these, it's always been referred to as commemorative sacrifices, not sacrifices meant for the purpose of covering sin. It's something to always have, in order to always remember the price that Jesus paid for salvation, a continuing object lesson (if you want to put it that way).

[At this point I should "open it up" for any discussion here, about these Millennial sacrifices, even when Jesus is here on this earth...]

I should also make a point of saying that these sacrifices that the Jews would do now, exhibit their lack of faith and trust in the true Messiah of Israel, as they "will be" doing them (in our present "church age"). And thus, they are not in God's will to be done now; a sacrilege, if you will, right now. But, at that future time, when it is done under the direction of the Messiah of Israel and they are done with the full recognition of Jesus as the Messiah of Israel and what he did, and done in a commemorative fashion (not a "real covering" for sin) -- then it will be something that is sanctioned and approved of by God.

The point is -- what is being done now by the Jews is against what God says, and what they will do later, during the Millennial reign of the Messiah of Israel will be in accordance with what God says. There is a big difference there.

But the Modern Pharisees don’t believe that.

Of course, the ones you are talking about are the "Jews" (for the most part, but not the Messianic Jews), and not simply and only some religious leaders. Those Jews who have not accepted what Jesus the Messiah has done in terms of Salvation for mankind and have rejected this same Jesus as the Messiah, they are all unsaved and out of the will of God, even when they try to be in the will of God, by doing what they think is proper and what God wants them to do now (in these sacrifices, but rejecting the true Messiah, Jesus).

They will be offering these sacrifices through the time it says in Daniel and Revelation, at which time the Antichrist puts a stop to the sacrifices.

When you say "Pharisees" ... I didn't want people to think it was limited to just a certain religious class or "sect" of Jews, but this applies to all Jews who reject Jesus as the Messiah of Israel. So, you're basically talking about anyone who is in Judaism, as opposed to Christianity (and Christianity here would include the Messianic Jews).

Do you have a Scriptural reference? I've always assumed that the 3rd Temple that is desecrated is used by Jesus Christ during the 1,000 yr reign.
