The movie 2012 is scheduled to be released in about a month or so. It's certain to create some renewed interest in end time prophecies.

I found a couple of things that might interest you and the rest of the Rapture Caucus.
The first is a one hour video: 2012, The Bible, and the End of the World
The speaker (Mark Hitchcock) has written a book as well.

There was somewhat of a flame war about the rapture on freerepublic the other day, but I don't remember exacly what the thread was called. Nevertheless, I think this article would be interesting to everyone, whether they are pre-millenial or not.
THE "EARTH-DWELLERS" AND THE "HEAVEN DWELLERS": AN OVERLOOKED INTERPRETATIVE KEY TO THE APOCALYPSE
Or you can download the entire pdf file here.

Ping to the rest of the group as you see fit.

His all!

Just wondering what you think of Jesus returning on 12/21/2012 or the rapture happening, I ask this because Jesus said he was returning when people LEAST expect him to come...I think as Christians we are not expecting him on the Mayan doomsday calendar..

Jesus said plainly that we could not know exactly when He will return, and that it will be at a time that we don’t think it will happen. (Matthew 24:42-44, Matthew 25:13.)

Just getting back now... :-)

You were saying ...

It's been out for a week now. I haven't heard much about it. Have you or anyone heard about it?

I don't know how useful it is to generate interest of this type (i.e., these kinds of movies) in relation to Biblical Prophecy from Scriptures that are god-breathed and inerrant. But, even so..., it's also important to tell people the truth about "prophecy" from the Bible.

Yeah, Mark Hitchcock is an excellent speaker and a prolific writer. There is some information I supplied, up above, about Mark Hitchcock. He's from Edmond, Oklahoma

There was somewhat of a flame war about the rapture on freerepublic the other day, but I don't remember exacly what the thread was called.

LOL..., a flamewar about the Rapture on Free Republic is the normal course for a thread of that type..., thanks to incessant naysayers and deniers of Bible Prophecy. And that's precisely why true believers of the Bible and that God says what He means and does what He says have this "Rapture Caucus" to be able to discuss these things here.

You can't discuss it when you have the naysayers and deniers of Bible Prophecy screaming and denying what others are saying from the Bible. At least, here, we can discuss it in a rational and peaceful way.

Nevertheless, I think this article would be interesting to everyone, whether they are pre-millenial or not.

This paper comes from a couple of writers from Criswell College. I drove by it many times in Dallas. It was also a ministry of Dallas First Baptist Church, too (where I went to church for a time when I was in Dallas).

Criswell College is named after its founder, Dr. W.A. Criswell, of the First Baptist Church of Dallas. On October 5, 1969, his twenty-fifth anniversary as pastor, Dr. Criswell presented to the church his vision for an institution that would provide biblical teaching that would be both intellectually and spiritually sound. As pastor, he felt a strong need to provide the very best biblical training for the hundreds of Sunday School teachers at First Baptist Church. Also, there were many Southern Baptist pastors who had not had the opportunity to finish college or even to begin. Dr. Criswell assigned the task of determining the possibility of beginning a Bible institute at First Baptist Church to Dr. James W. Bryant, his Minister of Evangelism and Church Organization.

I don't know if I go along with their analysis in that paper they submitted, but it is within the area of discussion here, so it's worth a look by everyone.

Thanks for contributing and I am now looking at that video by Mark Hitchcock. I've downloaded it (not viewing it in the web browser. It's an MP4 file and I managed to get it downloaded to the computer. If someone wants it and can't download it themselves, I could upload it via BitTorrent and seed it that way for anyone who wanted to view it. It might be sometime this weekend if someone wanted it. However, I won't do that unless someone is interested.

I would recommend all readers listen to what Mark Hitchcock says in those MP3 files I've listed up above. They all pertain to what is said here in this caucus.
