Excellent article. I found it very interesting.

There is much interest in the ‘end times’ happenings of the world today.

Two years ago I did a two year (PRECEPTS ...by Kay Arthur) study on revelations; also very interesting. To anyone interested in the subject I do recommend the ‘Precepts’ studies.

Your tie all the ends up very neatly. It requires some thought before simply accepting the timing. It is appealing to just say HALELUJAH! GLORY TO GOD. May it be true.

excerpt

“In my opinion that leaves only one other candidate for Paul's restrainer — and that is the Church. It is the Church that serves as the primary restrainer of evil in the world today as it proclaims the Gospel and stands for righteousness. When the Church fails in this mission, evil multiplies, as Paul graphically points out in 2 Timothy 3:1-5. Paul says that society in the end times will be characterized by chaos and despair because “men will hold to a form of religion but will deny its power.” When the Church is removed from the world, all hell will literally break loose.”

The church ... is the people inside ... believers in the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; and the Lord Jesus Christ: and the Scriptures written in the Holy Bible.

What a responsibility it is to know that each of us individually is a part of ‘the restrainer of evil.’ Powerful idea. The concept of being a Christian soldier has faded from from consciousness in our times. We mostly think of our own deliverance/salvation, witnessing, being missionaries, caring for the poor, lost, needy, and being obedient to God and His Word.

My job is to also be a ‘restrainer of evil. WOW! In this time when most churches rarely say the words ‘sin’ or ‘evil’ and are in to compromising, and attracting new members: it is an amazing idea. One I embrace. It may change my life ... more.

Thank you for it.

I'll be back.

Thanks for your posting...

One particular thing I’ll comment on here, from you — “There is much interest in the ‘end times’ happenings of the world today.”

Yes, I would say that there is immense interest these days. And there are *two problems* that I think of, when I think of that.

One you can see quite plainly here on Free Republic. You’ll get hammered for even starting to talk about things like the Rapture, which is closer than ever — especially when the prophetic things written in the Bible about the end times, seem to be coming very soon.

There will be all sorts of “naysayers” that interfere with you being able to even talk about these events and their relation to the soon coming Rapture — and it will make a disaster of you trying to have a nice conversation with other people who *are interested*.

And that was definitely one major reason for having a “caucus” to make it *even possible* to talk about it. You basically *could not talk about it* — without an entire thread getting all messed up in the confusing talk of naysayers, which caused others just to say, “forget it, I don’t want in the middle of that mess!”... LOL... [and perhaps that was a purpose of the naysayers in the first place...]

The other problem that comes out of all this interest in end times happenings these days — is that you’ve got people looking at all sorts of other sources for possible information about “catastrophic events” that are about to happen. It could be sources from psychics, or false and misleading “prophets”, or actually *anyone* who says that they “have a vision”. Anyone who says something “catastrophic” is going to happen becomes someone’s prophet sooner or later. That leads to deception and a lot of confusion.

That’s why this Rapture Caucus was started — in order to use a valid source for these end-times events — the inerrant and infallible Word of God — and/or others who reference that very same authoritative source, the Bible, as the *basis* in presenting their explanation of how things will transpire — and — be able to talk about it.

Good to have you here posting with the rest of us.
