Exactly ST..

GOD said we should seek his *wisdom* we should learn to know him better...He does not want *lazy Christians* IMO

GOD is infinite, he is all knowing, he is the Alpha and the Omega..how could we possibly know everything about the Creator of the Universe, our Father in Heaven if we only look to the Bible to understand him in ways that go beyond the Holy Bible...
The Holy Bible is our truth in how we should live life on earth and how to obtain mercy and everlasting life in Jesus Christ.

Is it your contention that the Bible is insufficient to tell us all we need to know about future events?”
NO not at all ST....

I mean this..Jesus said Look up! for your redemption draws nigh...Jesus spoke in parables...

Our glorious Lord has concealed His truth from the wise and prudent, and He has revealed it unto babes - even His elect (Matthew 11:25-27).

“At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes. Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight. All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.”

In saying what I was saying in the last post (and it’s absolutely true), I am walking the “razor’s edge” on that one... LOL..

There is also a lot of deception and error outside of the Word of God. What we have in the Word of God is something that is inerrant and infallible. What we have outside of the Word of God, is much truth that is mixed in with much error and deception. That’s the problem that one runs into.

So, while much truth exists outside of the Bible (and while the Bible does fit exactly what 2 Timothy 3:16-17 is referring to), it will take a lot of diligence and keeping “in the Word” to be discerning of that truth that exists from creation and in our everyday lives.

We — “live in the gap” — (in this world) between the truth that exists in the Bible (as it tells us) — and — the truth that exists in the world that we live in (along with all the deception and error).

Yes the Bible is *Truth* we are hostage to a physical life that prevents us from knowing all what GOD means outside the Bible...

Until our Spirit is free to understand all what GOD is....

I always say if we were given a job to do in the next exsistence..

Well, if you can’t understand that post in #475, you’re basically beyond hope... :-)

All I know is that all of what you wrote has nothing to do with the question at hand. Simply cutting and pasting from the Chicago Statement is does nothing to help your claims.

You are left trying to assert something about God that you cannot prove from either specific or general revelation. It is transparently ineffective.

The what does Revelation 20 tell you about Satan being let loose once again?

That's not what you originally asked: Plus- Isn’t the Devil Satan to remain on the earth for a 1000 years?

That is not for the entire one thousand years. It is simply for a very brief period at the end.

Right now Satan is chained in the abyss while the gospel is going forth into all the nations. The satanic deception has been lifted. Christ has all authority and has called His people to disciple those same nations.

Do you understand now?

There appears to be a lot of other things that are also “ineffective” to you, which are to a large number of other Christian believers. So, this doesn’t appear to be a great surprise. It could have been a genetic problem of some sort... :-)

It is *very clear* to me, that the Bible does *not give* all the information about future events — so yes — it is *insufficient* in terms of the “total knowledge” of those future events. There’s *absolutely no question about it* — it’s *absolutely insufficient* in terms of the total information of future events.

Lest anyone be confused, that is an opinion, not a fact discerned from the Word of God.

Everything God would have us know in advance about the future is given to us explicitly in the Bible. There is nothing about future events that can be discerned from any external source. General revelation is of no help in the regard.

You can try to deflect, but you are still not directly confronting your unsupportable arguments. It's a debaters trick, but it is obviously not working.

Let's try again:

1) Where does the Bible say that God is obligated to not be "wasteful"?

2) What would God be "wasting" if He did A vs. B? (Pick any A or B.)

topcat54, you said — “Everything God would have us know in advance about the future is given to us explicitly in the Bible. There is nothing about future events that can be discerned from any external source. General revelation is of no help in the regard.”

As I said before, and it’s very clear to anyone who “thinks”... LOL... There’s not a thing that is wrong with that statement below...

It is *very clear* to me, that the Bible does *not give* all the information about future events — so yes — it is *insufficient* in terms of the “total knowledge” of those future events. There’s *absolutely no question about it* — it’s *absolutely insufficient* in terms of the total information of future events.

I think that’s so very clear to anyone who wants to see it.

But, does that mean that Bible is “insufficient” in and of itself — no, not at all. This is what 2 Timothy says about that...

2 Timothy 3:16-17

16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,

17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

That’s what the Bible is sufficient for — and *not* in regards to “all truth” that exists...

Oh, topcat54, you gave me a real big laugh here! LOL...

You said — “Right now Satan is chained in the abyss while the gospel is going forth into all the nations. The satanic deception has been lifted. Christ has all authority and has called His people to disciple those same nations.”

I knew that there were some people on Free Republic who were in complete denial of reality, but here we’ve got another item that shows it. LOL..

It’s hilarious to realize that there exists someone who thinks Satan is chained in the abyss right now, so that he doesn’t deceive the nations. I think someone hasn’t been watching and “Satan escaped”... :-)

You ahdere to your pet theories and then try to get “reality” (as in the world we see around us) to fit those pet theories of yours.

The fact of the matter is that the church on this earth is failing miserably in getting the Gospel to the entire world. There will be those who will, later on and we’ll see the angel who gives the everlasting Gospel to the world, but that’s not the church.

Europe has been dwindling in Christians, with the U.S. right behind them by a few years. Islam is making moves into Europe and into the U.S. already infiltrating the society and culture of the West. Even so-called “Christians” end up supporting Muslims over Israel, as if that’s something “more Christian” to do that. LOL...

It’s only in your imagination that Satan is chained in the abyss, that there is no Satanic deception in the world (talk about someone living in a “make-believe world... LOL...), and that Christianity is gaining in getting the Gospel out to the entire world...

It’s no wonder you can’t figure out these other things that people tell you here on these threads, with thinking like that...

SUCH ASSERTIONS are, to me,

MIND BOGGLINGLY UNBIBLICAL.
MIND BOGGLINGLY IRRATIONAL.

MIND BOGGLINGLY UNOBSERVANT.
MIND BOGGLINGLY BLIND.

MIND BOGGLINGLY CLUELESS.
MIND BOGGLINGLY SPIRITUALLY SUICIDAL.

MIND BOGGLINGLY IGNORANT.
MIND BOGGLINGLY DESTRUCTIVE.

and that Christianity is gaining in getting the Gospel out to the entire world...

THAT, imho, is a mixed bag.

The Gospel is advancing into the people groups still without it. IT APPEARS—A KEY PROPHECY HERE—IT APPEARS THAT IT WILL HAVE REACHED ALL THE PEOPLE GROUPS, LANGUAGE GROUPS OF THE WORLD WITHIN 12—CERTAINLY WITHIN 14 YEARS.

There could be events hasten it as they are now using solar/hand crank powered MP3 players to get it into tribal hands where there’s no written literacy.

hmmmmmmm...

The who is deceiving the world right now?
Why is ISLAM growing but christianity is not?

Many people have died since Jesus was on earth and never heard the Gospel...

Another issue, I would like to elaborate on with Ancient Cultures...Maybe I missed this in the Holy Scriptures, but I will ask you and maybe you know...

The Apostles had spread the Gospel to most of the world but not all...

When did the people of this great land we call the USA have an opportunity to hear the Gospel message of Christ? or South America?

Maybe it was Jesus Christ that opened the hearts of these native people to who he was, and they interpeted who he was the only way they understood?

Just some food for thought...

In terms of the Gospel being preached to the entire world...

Luke 18:1-8

1 Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart,

2 saying: “There was in a certain city a judge who did not fear God nor regard man.

3 Now there was a widow in that city; and she came to him, saying, ‘Get justice for me from my adversary.’

4 And he would not for a while; but afterward he said within himself, ‘Though I do not fear God nor regard man,

5 yet because this widow troubles me I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.’ “

6 Then the Lord said, “Hear what the unjust judge said.

7 And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them?

8 I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?”

It says (or asks the question...) “... when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?”

That’s a quite “telling” question...

Matthew 24:4-14

4 And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you.

5 For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many.

6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places.

8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.

9 Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake.

10 And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another.

11 Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many.

12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.

13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved.

14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.

The cause of this? It says in verse 12 — “And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.”

But, also note that it says in verse 14 — “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.”

BUT look at what *actually* accomplished this “preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations...”

Revelation 14:6-7

6 Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth—to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people—

7 saying with a loud voice, “Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water.”

It’s the “angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth — to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people—”

It’s only when this angel does it — that “every nation, tribe, tongue and people” — finally have the Gospel... “and then the end will come”...

Don’t panic. We are approaching the galactic equator and will cross-over it in a matter of years.

Things to look forward too include large, random meteor showers, earthquakes, and even an exciting pole shift.

All of which we have no control over.

So don’t worry and just be happy.
