Cardinal Roger Mahony has banned Holocaust-denying British Bishop Richard Williamson from entering any Roman Catholic church, school or other facility in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.
Mahony published the ban today in a joint statement with two members of the American Jewish Committee.
Williamson is one of four members of an ultra-traditionalist group who were excommunicated. He denied the Holocaust in a previously taped interview broadcast in January on the same day Pope Benedict XVI lifted his excommunication.
Mahony's statement makes no mention of any plans by Williamson to come to Los Angeles, but it notes that the situation has given many religious and civic leaders an opportunity to acknowledge the Holocaust.
Mahony says he plans to visit the Yad Vashem Memorial in Jerusalem this year.

The Cardinal welcomes illegal aliens (felons all, by definition) INTO his churches. (Of course, those illegal aliens do donate to his churches ....)
Did the Cardinal “welcome” any democrat politicians (murderers of 48 million babies since 1973) into his church recently?
How charitable of him.
Will he also deny entrance of practitioners of the current holocause, abortion?
Amen. I look forward to his upcoming denouncement of Nancy Pelosi and the Shriver-Schwarzenegger clan.
Actually, Mahony himself is a holocaust denier by not sanctioning the abortionists of his own diocese.
All historical events are open to study and review. All of them.
There are no sacred cows.
Oh, gee, how brave his eminence is...
These liberal bishops love diversion issues such as this. What has Mahoney done about pro-abortion Democratic politicians?(rhetorical question).
Obviously, in Roger-Dodger’s view, denying the Holocaust is much worse than promoting abortion—since “Catholic” pro-aborts are welcome to receive Communion and otherwise pose as Catholics in Los Angeles.
Some garlic might not hurt, either.
thanks. I was going to post, but is seems ya’ll covered everything I was going to say..........
