Seeing that pretty much daily someone jumps on the Pray for this nation and the Conversion of Obama threads and plays Holy Spirit in either condemning the idea of praying for Obama or tells me that I pray for the wrong things, I am creating this thread for you all to post your gripes to. You can bring stuff up here all you want (within the rules of Free Republic). Posts inciting violence or that can be interpreted that way and posts containing profanity will be removed. But here is your chance to blast away at the thread.
The thread itself is OFF LIMITS to debate as it is a prayer thread. Per Free Republic's own rules, prayer threads are debate free zones.
Ping
i wuz wonderin’ ‘bout dat.
If ever a human being needed prayer, it’s Obama. He literally needs to have a come to Jesus moment.
Agreed.
Surly, we first need to debate existence of this thread before we get on to other matters.
Would someone car to start the...
“THE DEBATE OF THE DEBATE THE EXISTENCE OF THE OBAMA PRAYER THREAD THREAD THREAD.
This thread makes no sense whatsoever. You must be an Obama supporter
JMO that you should have just let the Pray for our POTUS and othe Govt official as a Rel thread not to except any out of bounds posts.
But it was thoughful of you to give the gripers a thread of their own.
Keep up the Potus Daily Prayer thread!
They skipped over that part and just jump on the prayer thread every day to debate where they aren’t supposed to be debating.
Oh. For the record.
1) I AM DOING THE PRAYER THREAD FOR NO OTHER REASON THAN I FELT LIKE IT WAS SOMETHING GOD WANTED ME TO DO.
2) I BELIEVE THAT SCRIPTURE TEACHES IT IS SOMETHING WE SHOULD DO AND DOES NOT MAKE A DISTINCTION THAT WE ARE TO PRAY ONLY FOR FOLKS WE LIKE.
3) I THINK THE ELECTION OF OBAMA IS DISASTEROUS.
4) I BELIEVE GOD IS BIGGER THAN OUR NATIONAL MISTAKES.
5) I LEAVE IT UP TO HIS SOVEREIGNTY IN DECIDING HOW TO DEAL WITH THE SITUATION BUT PRAY FOR THE BEST, FOR JESUS SAID YOU HAVE NOT BECAUSE YOU ASK NOT.
An Obama supporter that started a similar prayer thread for then candidate Bush in 2000 - yeah, that makes sense.
No gripes from me. I think praying for someone you disagree with is just fine. In fact, isn’t that what you’re supposed to do?
Obama has God Given Gifts he NEEDS to stop using them to fight against God.
Add Pelosi to that thought too.
I think it’s appropriate to pray for Obama, so long as we avail ourselves of Psalm 109.
good point
Agreed. Rush mentioned some of them today in his CPAC speech. He was dead on right there.
Don't let it get you down.
Perhaps the Mods might choose to warn the first time then ban them for repeat offending.
Bet that would slow down the problem.
Thank you for your time spent posting prayer threads. I truly had not thought of praying FOR Obama until I saw your thread and after some squeamishness on my part, realized that it is entirely in keeping with my spiritual beliefs and would benefit me psychologically to pray for him even though I have a hard time doing it. I have benefitted from your effort in posting and my effort in praying and just wanted to take a moment to thank you.
Thank you. I think that is right. Plus, some folks just don’t have any room for hoping the enemy gets saved. Take Jonah for example. Like my Tag line says...the Ninevites were particularly cruel folks. Last people you think would repent. But they did, at least for a little more than a generation. Eventually they returned to evil and God got them; but, peace for 100 years from them. It could be the same here. I think America ultimately has a price to pay for its sins. You can’t abort an entire generation and expect God to wink at that sin. But, with repentance, who knows what could happen in this nation. God is big enough to bring America back to Himself and a weanie like Obama is no match for the Almighty.
