Maybe you would be a good person to explain why Catholics in the heavily Catholic state of MA vote so heavily for a solidly pro-abortion—some might say rabidly pro-abortion—delegation? I lived there ~twenty-five years, and the wholesale Catholic support for radically pro-abortion pols was very real, and very discouraging.
Leaders are supposed to lead. The leaders on our side are so passive these days, and they are getting run over by the opposition. This Pope seems like he has backbone, this is an opportunity to show it. All we are asking is for him to step up.
They really are not Catholics, but are CINOs. Catholics in Name Only.
In voting for Obama they excommunicated themselves and cannot receive Communion without going to Confession, promising to amend their ways (Not vote pro-abort) and do the penance/repent.
If what you’re saying is true—and I have no reason to doubt it—shouldn’t there be some kind of Catholic missionary outreach made in the Catholic parishes of MA? The CINOs, as you called them, who make up those congregations form the backbone of Kennedy’s, Kerry’s, Barney Frank’s, etc. support.
bishops should be enforcing Canon 915
***It’s a muddled ground if the Pope meets with someone who shouldn’t be given communion. He could just say that Pelosi needs to clear up her stance on these issues, and then he’d meet with her. By agreeing to meet with such a person, he legitimizes & lends credibility to her efforts. Oh well, it’s not like he’d be alone in such a moral compromise.
You have a good point. Maybe *I* ought to talk to him to. Where do I make an appointment?
