Dallas Texas area church Preaching About Superbowl Commercials

Preaching About Superbowl Commercials Apparently preaching from the Bible is something that pastors feel no obligation to do now-a-days. Now we can stick it to the man and preach about the deep spiritual messages in Superbowl Commercials. (too bad that the man they're sticking it to is Jesus)

Pay real close attention when the video gets to the 1:22 mark. You will witness this Methodist congregation in the Dallas Fort Worth area singing that deep and meaningful hymn "Drop Kick Me Jesus Through the Field Goal of Life"

"Drop Kick Me Jesus Through the Field Goal of Life"

Still doesn't come close to the brilliance of Hamlet 2's "Rock Me Sexy Jesus".

seems to be seeker sensative madness. Don’t want to actually study The Word. May offend the causual church go-er and their contributions.

Saddleback Church in Orange County usually has a Sunday night service...except they are closed on Super Bowl night. Can you imagine a church closing its’ doors to celebrate one of the most secular events in America?

I have never been there, but I have a friend who is a memeber. She showed up for the Sunday night service only to find out that it was closed for the Super Bowl.

And it’s not “Drop Kick Me Jesus Through the Field Goal of Life”, it’s “Drop Kick Me Jesus Through the Goal Posts of Life” from the 70s IIRC

that done suprise me that

Purpose Driven Pope Rick Warren ‘s cult (I mean church)

was closed.

the purpose-driven and seeker-sensitive churches

are required now to have a service on super bowl sunday

in fact, some purpose-driven and seeker-sensitive churches

actually refuse to preach on JESUS on Easter Sunday

My favorite comment from the A Little Leaven link:

Never ask One Who can speak entire galaxies into existence to drop kick you.

It's just not very bright.

Chris Roseborough who also does the radio show at

is not only a serious guy but a funny one also.

Roseborough Kinda reminds me of a christian talk radio version of Glenn Beck

"Drop Kick Me Jesus Through the Field Goal of Life"

Then they got the words wrong. Or else the report is inaccurate.
