“The problem is that birth control makes it easy to be promiscuous.”
Promiscuity existed long before the condom.
“And birth control is wrong in and of itself.”
Says who?
I’m so sorry. I hope you feel better.
Read the article and if you finds its findings silly, kindly explain why.
Besides, a country that depends on immigrant labor to keep its social security system from sinking even faster shouldn’t count any native baby unwanted.
Oh I’m not saying that horomonal BC techniques have no side effects. They do and I am well aware of them. SO do other things as well. Guns. Guns have very unfortunate side effects. A high percentage of people that are shot with guns, ACTUALLY die! It sounds so strange when you really think about it. How evil the gun must be! I even have it under good authority that one of the side effects of using a hammer is that one just might bash ones thumb with the “evil” device. Do NOT get me started on the “evils” of the internal combustion engine!
“Read the article and if you finds its findings silly, kindly explain why.”
The only thing that I have found silly on this entire thread follows....
Some things are evil and deserve to be banned. Contraception is among them.
The issue is not side effects. Artificial contraception is evil in principle. The article does a level good job explaining why. If someone figures out how to ban it without creating a black market, more power to him.
“Artificial contraception is evil in principle.”
Given the realities of todays society, and the fact that women are NOT going back to the 1950s’ you will always either have legal abortion on demand OR birth control.
You pick.
I know plenty of women who abhor both abortion and contraception. The idea that it’s either one or the other is NARAL propaganda.
Without the legalization of birth control, the legalization of abortion would never have occurred. Thus, the number of abortions would today, be miniscule.

Obama Says A Baby Is A Punishment
Obama: If they make a mistake, I dont want them punished with a baby.
Furthermore, we can begin now, one step at a time.
Your analogies here are weak and ineffectual.
The medical data on contraceptives is very sobering and especially for the woman.
I have had quite a few years of experience dealing with the consequences of the use of contraceptives. It isn’t pretty.
It occurs to me that I’d better clarify what I mean by those “years of experience”. For many years I was an NFP counselor. I could—and perhaps should—write a book about all that I heard and learned from the couples who came to me for counseling. If there ever would be an indictment of artificial contraception, their stories would surely be evidence and testimonials.
In addition, I had to be very knowledgable about the various forms of artificial contraception—how they work, the consequences, side effects, etc. And what I learned helped me to understand what all NFP counselors come to know: that God may forgive, but nature doesn’t.
And contraception is contra-nature.
“I know plenty of women who abhor both abortion and contraception.”
And the ones that do not feel the same way as you about contraception? You would use the force of government to make them to either be celibate or pregnant in order to staisfy YOUR personal feelings on the issue?
Not very American of you.
“Without the legalization of birth control, the legalization of abortion would never have occurred. Thus, the number of abortions would today, be miniscule.”
Ok Kreskin.
“The medical data on contraceptives is very sobering and especially for the woman.”
Do you believe that the women of this nation would just stand by and allow you or a bunch of religious fundamentalists to drag them back into the 1950s’?
Look I am pretty much playing devils’ advocate here. I know that the sexual revolution in this nation came about because of the availability of contraception and abortion and none of those three things have been great for America. What I AM trying to get some of you to understand is that no matter how much you might want to force it, the women of this nation are NOT going to stand by and allow a bunch or religious fanatics to take away their “rights.”
Yes, promiscuity existed long before artificial birth control did but there is no question that promiscuity increased drastically because of the widespread availability of contraception. The sexual revolution never would have occurred except for the development of the Pill. These are facts which can’t be refuted.
The Catholic Church says that contraception is evil in and of itself. The correctness of Pope Paul VI’s predictions about contraception is the subject of the article that is the subject of this thread. It is evil to try to separate procreation from sex or to separate sex and/or procreation from marriage. You obviously disagree with this but it doesn’t make it less true, it just makes your opinion incorrect.
“before contraception became widely available, the country wasn’t awash with unwanted babies.”
True, but if you’re saying that’s how it would be after banning all these things, you’re wrong.
The mindset now is “sex-sex-sex”, so yes, at least initially, we would probably be “awash in babies”. People used to screwing any time they want aren’t going to just stop because they have no BC or abortion.
