Like many enemies of the Church founded by Christ, you have no idea what you're talking about.
Thanks for the ping. bttt.
I saw an interview with a few survivors just after they were rescued. One of them, a middle-aged immigrant, told the reporter he was saying the Pater Noster in Aramaic as they were going down.
Great story. However, God will give you aid when you need it, if you have faith in Him. It has nothing to do with the time of day. Some like Stephen in Acts die, but with hope. Once again good story, it does show the power of prayer.
Have you heard of Peter O'Malley's story on surviving the Mumbai massacre?
He continued to pray the Rosary while the attacks were taking place. Another inspirational story.
Can’t believe I’m saying this, but I’m with Iscool. This kind of story - well, there were a lot of people praying that day who died in horrible circumstances nonetheless. I’m sure there were a lot of folks on the planes on 9/11 praying as well...we can read way too much into things.
A friend from my church (Anglican), who is not a Roman Catholic, was also on that flight.
He prayed very intensely as the plane went down—just talking personally to God, through our one Mediator Jesus Christ. His prayers were heard as well.
“The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.” - James 5:16
My prayer is that every Roman Catholic will pray like that before they die, and not rely on a combination of their own merit....and God's mercy. God's mercy in Christ Jesus does it all...
