I don’t see it significant whether you think jesus was the literal son of god or god himself. It has no effect on the rest of the bible’s meaning.

That is where you are significantly wrong. The Person, Nature and Work of God and accordingly Jesus are the foundation that all the rest of the understanding of the bible is hinged upon. If you believe that Jesus is just another God among other gods - you have a polytheistic interpretation overlaid upon the bible and must ignore the bible's clear monotheistic (one God in existence) teachings.

Who said the son of god is a god? The son of god would be the most important messenger of god(assuming there was only one literal son of god). How would that make him a god?

I think people get tangled up in these things more than is prudent. I believe in the trinity (because I believe God and I believe the authority of the Bible) even though I don’t understand it any more than a man who sees in black and white can understand red.

But that’s ok.

A lot of people firmly believe their car works even though they do not understand the workings of an internal combustion engine.
