This is going to be interesting. Heh heh heh.

What Protestants call “confessing the faith” is what Catholics call “professing the faith.” One professes TO someone whereas one confesses WITH someone. So despite King James’ word usage, (not to blame him; he followed the Vulgate on him!), evangelizing to a non-believer is “professing.”

Yes, when a Catholic sees the bible command to “confess the faith,” they certainly understand it to mean they must evangelize; it’s just it takes a brief moment of translating to understand that “public confession” refers to confessing the faith, and not confessing one’s sins.
