Benedict XVI grows in stature as his reign progresses. To the momentous achievement of the motu proprio Summorum Pontificum, freeing the Tridentine Mass, he has now added the sagacious and just lifting of the excommunications imposed on the four bishops of the Society of St Pius X.
Although there was widespread scepticism about the validity of those censures, their lifting removes a roadblock to the restoration of the Church after the damage wrought by the Second Vatican Catastrophe. Not everyone is happy about the pardoning of the bishops. The staff of The Tablet are rumoured to be on suicide watch, while the malign spirit of those who, without any conscious irony, denominate themselves "liberals" was well illustrated by Gianni Gennari, an Italian journalist.

It wasn’t the Council that was bad, but rather the “interpretation” of what is therein.
Correct kinda. The Council documents are bad because of being ambiguous.
That way they could be taken down the road they went.
Relax, Gennari. There are still plenty of parishes that have liturgical dancers, altar girls, etc.
Well, that’s a nice, balanced headline. I wonder what the article is about......... :-)
The more I read from those sixteen documents prayerfully, the more I love them.
Exactly!!! I have also read the comments of a few clerics who were there...and noticed the work of the Holy Spirit in some interesting ways. ;-)
Unfortunately, there were several dissident members of the clergy in the United States (primarily at first) who began to pick and choose specific items (out of context) to serve their unholy desires.
If there were a time to have a renewal in the church,it’s now. Finally. We have a priest at our parish from India and he is the nicest person but I can’t understand 99% of what he says. I wrote him a letter asking if he could put a synopsis of his homily in back of church and nothing happened. It’s frustrating to not be able to understand what he is talking about. For me I would just as soon have Latin at least then I know they wouldn’t be able to change any of the mass.
Yep.
Poetic justice, isn't it?
Latin is much harder to mispronounce than English.
