I’m not Catholic (conservative Lutheran who agrees with Catholics 100% on this) and how anyone could ever think the Catholic church would support homosexual behavior/relationships just boggles my mind...what on earth do they expect, a blessing from the Pope? Seriously, this world stands on it’s head...
To give them the benefit of the doubt, many priests are confused about the issue because of the ambiguiety toward homosexuality/women’s ordination as presented by their teachers in the seminaries. Their flocks are likewise confused, because it is one thing to treat a gay or lesbian person with respect and quite another to let them thing their behavior is acceptable, as society increasinly demands we do.
