This will sound contradictory to what I’ve said, but I agree, they must correct him because he has violated his vow to follow their teaching. The point I’m raising is that they need to look at some of the teachings...they are not all from the Word of God, some were written by men.
That's the most Protestant thing you've said so far.
The Catholic Church is not a Bible Only church.
What are you referring to? SOME teaching are written by man and not the Word of God? Name a specific one, please. You have lost me.
Careful Jilliane, you are sounding like a bible protestant. The Church gave us the bible, yes...however in it (per St. Paul) says following the oral traditions. Not everything was written in the bible, and St. Paul (in his writings) referred to them.
The Council of Nicea was also infallible, and is where our Credo, er...sorry, the "profession of faith" originates (referring to Christ judging "the living and the dead.") As Catholics it is not an either/or thing, as I believe you know.
The priest in question here in the article is an obvious and blatant heretic, and Rome is dealing with him appropriately.
Exactly why the Protestant Reformation happened. Men are fallible, and can't become infallible just because they say they are. God's Word, alone, is our infallible guide. We may interpret it wrongly, but His Word is NEVER wrong. Terabitten
