Thank you for that beautiful litany. Years ago my mother gave me a booklet regarding the power of the name Jesus. It has much of the info you cite and encourages one to say with reverences His holy name whenever we hear it used blasphemously.
On a lighter note. The Catholic school I attended was run at the time by the Sisters of Mercy. What a lovely order. The school, convent, rectory and church were located right across the street from my home allowing us kids to spend lots of time outside the classroom with the nuns. Sometimes we even spent the night with them in the convent. Of course, it’s been many years, the teachers are all secular now but how I remember fondly those days.
Recently, my brother was at a hospital waiting for his wife, who was having some tests run, when he met a sister from a nearby convent. They struck up a conversation and my brother told the nun he had attended Catholic school, left the faith and returned several years ago. When she asked him what order served the school he told her Sisters of Mercy. “Well,” she said, “you turned out surprisingly well anyway!”
