To: Steelfish

It’s one thing to overturn the misinterpretations of Vatican 2 and another thing entirely to return to pre-Vatican 2 Mass. I for one like to hear the Word of God spoken in my own language and not Latin. Sacred Catholic music of English or Latin or any other language is most welcome.

You would still hear the Word of God proclaimed in your own language. In my experience, it is standard practice for the priest to re-read the text on which he plans to preach (including usually the gospel) in the local language — in my case, English. Also, he of course preaches in English as well.

As a Latin-rite Catholic, your (liturgical) language is Latin.
