Want to escape contact with God?

Then take C.S. Lewis’ advice, worth quoting in full:

Avoid silence, avoid solitude,
avoid any train of thought that
leads off the beaten track.
Concentrate on money, sex, status,
health and (above all) on your own grievances.
Keep the radio on.
Live in a crowd. Use plenty of sedation.
If you must read books, select them very carefully.
But you’d be safer to stick to the papers.
You’ll find the advertisements helpful,
especially those with a sexy or a snobbish appeal.

To: WhatNot

An otherwise decent article, but just one nit to pick:

The theological term “presumption” is already taken, and in a fairly similar context.

Presumption is the sin of relying on God to forgive your sins, in the absence of any sincere effort at amending your ways. So “Faith Versus Presumption” would be having Christ change your heart though faith, versus justifying oneself on the mere basis of being a Christian.
