Capitalism and Faith in God do not mix. Democracy's and Faith in God do not mix. Representative Republics and Faith in God do not mix.

Another victim of our failed school system...

Just what form of government do you think God would want a free society to establish? What do you really know about how the United States of America came into being?

Being not of this world does not mean that we isolate ourselves from it... it means that we should not conform with world views. The fact that the United States and it's constitution exists at all is a miracle in and of itself. It has demonstrated that God fearing men CAN thrive ABUNDANTLY without FEAR of persecution. Do you think thats what God wants is a bunch of nations which persecute His children so they will be obedient???

No government is perfect in practice... But this nation IS a gift from God and an example to the world. However, it will cease to exist if every christian adopts a head-in-the-sand philosophy such as yours.

Read up on your history.

Theocracy, which is what Christ will establish upon His return. Until then, I kind of like the government the Israelites had before they whined for a king like the nations around them had. After the God ordained Judges and Priestly rule, (of which I think is the second best way of government), God finally gave in to them after their much whining and gave them what they wanted. Other than David and part of Solomon' rule, and a few others, that didn't work out for them. They spent most of their days in idolatry which led to bondage.

What do you really know about how the United States of America came into being?

Well, I do know that it paralleled much of the Israelites journey to the Promise Land. The Israelites did not have religious freedom in Egypt, Our early ancestry didn't have freedom to worship, but were forced to abide by the King's church of England.

The Israelites left Egypt for the Promised Land. The early colonists left England, first to the land of the Dutch, but then after realizing they were losing their English identity, went back to England and then were allowed to come to our "Promised Land".

In Dt. 8 we see the Israelites receiving instruction before entering the Promised Land. They are told:
6 Observe the commands of the LORD your God, walking in his ways and revering him. 7 For the LORD your God is bringing you into a good land—a land with streams and pools of water, with springs flowing in the valleys and hills; 8 a land with wheat and barley, vines and fig trees, pomegranates, olive oil and honey; 9 a land where bread will not be scarce and you will lack nothing; a land where the rocks are iron and you can dig copper out of the hills. 10 When you have eaten and are satisfied, praise the LORD your God for the good land he has given you. 11 Be careful that you do not forget the LORD your God, failing to observe his commands, his laws and his decrees that I am giving you this day. 12 Otherwise, when you eat and are satisfied, when you build fine houses and settle down, 13 and when your herds and flocks grow large and your silver and gold increase and all you have is multiplied, 14 then your heart will become proud and you will forget the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.

Now we come to early American history. We also prospered, like the Israelites. But we follwed suite, just like them. We "forgot the LORD our God" in all our prosperity.

In Daniel 2 we read:
40 Finally, there will be a fourth kingdom, strong as iron—for iron breaks and smashes everything—and as iron breaks things to pieces, so it will crush and break all the others. 41 Just as you saw that the feet and toes were partly of baked clay and partly of iron, so this will be a divided kingdom; yet it will have some of the strength of iron in it, even as you saw iron mixed with clay. 42 As the toes were partly iron and partly clay, so this kingdom will be partly strong and partly brittle. 43 And just as you saw the iron mixed with baked clay, so the people will be a mixture and will not remain united, any more than iron mixes with clay.
This will be the Roman Empire and it's remains and offshoots. I believe the Iron and Clay reference Democracy, a mixture of good and evil people leading. But there is no mixing of the two. Capitalism, although Biblical in a purist sense, is weakened by evil people who are Capitalists for greeds sake. Thus weakening the "kingdom".

I do believe that at this point in all of history that this is the best we can have, but it is still inferior as long as evil people are allowed to lead. The Rock will be here soon to smash all kingdoms and establish His own.

So to answer your charge to "Read up on your history.", I tend to look at ALL of it as opposed to just the last 400 hundred years. And I like to put it in it's proper context, looking at God's action and involvement with governments in the past, present, and the future.

As a 7 year HSLDA card carrying veteran with a 14 year old in his first year of college, and on track to have his masters in Computer Science by the age of 19, I'll try not to take offense to that.
