I’m still using your observation as my tagline.
I included the keyword “birthcertificate,” so those who are following the issue will see it, regardless of where it was posted.
Thanks for all the responses, I didn’t mean to abandon my own thread, but family obligations took precedence, being Thanksgiving Day as it is.
“The Supreme Court visited this issue and stated that a person assigned overseas whether military of State Dept Person or whatever is a natural born US citizen!
Provide a source for reference, please. If what you say is factual, then what is the purpose of S. R. 511, the topic of this thread?”
The Supreme Court HAS NEVER explicitly stated who and who isn’t a “natural born” citizen ... they have just danced around the issues quite a bit in some famous cases ...
HECK, they have NEVER even defined the term “natural born” citizen.
Congress has (several times) passed legislation lending the term “natural born” to different types of citizens ... but their constitutionality has never been tested at SCOTUS.
As for Res. 511:
It was a LAME-ASS attempt by the DEMS to provide cover for Obama by focusing the text of the resolution on McCain - and then inserting a paragraph at the end stating that Obama is a “natural born” citizen too.
FYI:
Congressional Resolutions have NO effect OR force of law. They just pile up in the restrooms in case they run out of TP.
Didn't think so. The poster who replied that the Supreme Court had done so, never provided a source, either.
I'm very intrigued by the constant repetition that John McCain was born in the Canal Zone, myself. In this Senate Resolution 511, in the few MSM blurbs about it, you'd think they'd bother to do a little fact checking about this other birth certificate, which clearly states in black and white that he was born in the Republic Of Panama. Are we all that geography challenged, do people think the entirety of Panama is the Canal Zone or something? It's embarrassing that the Senate apparently does.
Also, I'm going to remind you and everyone to please be careful about the use of profanity. This was posted to the Religion forum. Maybe I should have posted it to News instead, as several FReepers have pointed out, on thread and via FReepmail.
To your original reply, it is rather odd, that this resolution, purportedly in support of John McCain, was introduced by a Democrat, Claire McCaskill, and co-sponsored by all Democrats, with the exception of Republican Tom Coburn.
“Also, I’m going to remind you and everyone to please be careful about the use of profanity.”
I usually don’t ... must be the turkey talking today ...
Well, it was mild, and your reply was a good one. I’m not too much of a prude, but am feeling very awkward about it, this thread being where it is. I’ve asked that the thread be moved to News, after several requests to do so.
Bumping this so that more eys can see it.
Action!

Sounds feasible, boxer. I wouldn't be surprised if this turns out to be fact. (like we would ever find out) But we can pray for a "turncoat - for the good of the country."
Not yet.
Well they can pass resolutions until they are blue in the face, but they can’t override the Constitution without an ammendment.
Scary, SCARY thought, txflake. But you're talkin' reality if this fraud gets in.
and co-sponsored by all Democrats, with the exception of Republican Tom Coburn.
Many of us were shocked by Coburn’s endorsement of McCain in the primaries.
FWIW, I believe Coburn is an D.O. (obstetrician).
There was a time when I thought he’d make an excellent presidential candidate. But, like Condoleeza Rice, he’s slowly revealing himself as just another citizen of the world type. Pity.
At this point, there is the appearance that something is wrong with Obama’s status as a natural born citizen. My guess is that he was born in Kenya and that his mother was shy two years of the five year requirement that would entitle Obama to natural born status.
If that does come out before his swearing in, then we do have a problem. The MSM and Obama supporters will argue that two years is a minor technicality and that more harm than good can come from unraveling the election because of the national security issues, financial situation and that riots would occur.
The Supremes would be under immense pressure to avoid hearing the case and face the turmoil of “another stolen election” as the Democrats would describe it. Obama is playng to that scenario by presenting himself and appointees as the government in waiting right now - that is what the sense of urgency is all about: a bird in the hand is worth two in the Bush.
I sincerely believe that most Congressmen including Republicans will do everything in their power to “let it sneak by” and concentrate on 2012 and 2016 and not be labeled as “spoil sports over a ‘minor’ technicality; unfortunately.
Obama voted for this resolution, now he may be hung by it.
