The Church is built on faith; the teaching and amdinistration was left to those whom Jesus taught—the Apostles of whom Peter is the elder brother, and their successors, whom they taught.

That's apologetics argued so often: still, I wonder what this book says that asserts this?

Jesus made personal appearances in the Old Testament.
