Dear Heavenly Father, Lord, we thank You for another day in a nation that is for now, free. Certainly many of us have the fear that the next administration will severely limit our freedoms; but, even more than that, it appears the American people are right for just such a takeover. The apathy of the people who just want the government to take care of them from cradle to grave would cause those who have fought and died for this nation since its beginning to roll over in their graves. Many of the founders understood the fragility of Freedom. Sadly, as a society, we have become so dumbed down that we no longer have the ability or willingness to think critically. Just give me my Ipod and Hi-Def TV and leave all that pesky stuff like world-domination to the conspiracy kooks. They are like certain victims of Katrina, who hearing the warnings, shrugged their shoulders and went about daily business until the wind and floods swept them away. Is there any hope for America? Or are we too far gone? Only You know, but we come to You and pray that if Your well of mercy and grace is not emptied, perhaps You can shed Your grace on us again.

Lord, we have sinned before You. I know I personally am a sinner, not worthy to even be speaking to You save Christ. Forgive me, Lord. Forgive my nation who has been given much and to whom much will be required. Sure, there have been more wicked people and more wicked nations - but did they have the truth so readily available to them? We have done great good and we have done great evil. The worst of which is that we have thumbed our nose at the Creator of the Universe and have set our own imaginations - whatever they may be - up as gods. The fact that You don't zap us now and be rid of us is testimony to Your great grace, mercy, and love. Your work towards us is beyond comprehension . We just stand in stunned and silent amazement when we truly try to comprehend the depths of Your grace towards us.

And now, we have Barack. Liberals, sheeple, and just plain apathetic folks put him in power. Conservatives who stayed home helped. And now, we will see what life is like under socialist rule. We have stupidly let the media tell us what to think and this is the result. May the people's eyes be wide open when all of this is said and done. May Obama's be as well.

Lord, there is some question as to whether he is legally entitled to be President. Numerous suits still exist. I pray that he will produce his valid birth certificate if it exists so that these questions will not follow him into the White House. If he is ineligible, I pray that is exposed as well for the constitution's sake; though, I do fear the outcome on the populace if that were to occur.

I pray for the Obamas themselves. Draped in black liberation theology, they have a worldview which sees white people as the enemy and an ambition that is dangerous in that light. Surrounded by communists from the time he was mentored by Frank Marshall Davis until now, I don't see how that particular philosophy could not have had a profound affect on his thinking. This too is scary. So, what I pray for Mr. Obama is that his worldview be shaken. Lord, cause something to happen which causes him to question all of his long held beliefs. This something doesn't have to be evil. It could be something good that challenges his thinking to the level that he seriously begins questioning. Whatever it takes, Lord, I ask that You get his attention and show him his need for repentance and a Savior. NONE of us can hope to succeed in life without You Lord. I pray no less than this for this man about to enter the Oval office.

Go with us the rest of this day Father, until we gather here together again. Be with Israel even as the UN again levies accusations and condemnation towards her. What a vile institution. Protect her and protect Your people everywhere from the evil that is here and that which is to come.

We love You Lord. It is in Jesus' name I pray these things, Amen.

Paul instructed believers to pray for all leaders and those in authority - while he was under NERO. We are also commanded by Christ to not only pray for each other but our enemies. Rather than react, perhaps stepping back and seeing what is actually being said is in order.

I respectfully decline to pray for someone who lied his way into office. He is evil.

Isn’t it possible that our prayers COULD convert him? I am surprised by your disagreement over this. I don’t think Jesus would not pray for sinners of all stripes.

It's a matter of sensibility and substance. There is a big difference between praying for sinners and "magnificate" this pray on a conservative blog. Obama, Pelosi and Biden are unrepentant about Abortion. Pope Benedict teaches that an unrepentant abortionist should not receive Communion. He will never receive my pray.

"Bad company corrupts good morals" (I Corinthians 15:33)

Although I strongly disagree with this prayer for Obama, it is posted in good faith. Blogger is a good freeper!

He has not been revealed as the Anti-Christ, and for that reason, we’d be amiss in our faith, if we did not pray for him. The prayer is right. Vengence is not ours, and the correct prayer is that God’s will be done, whether it be through this man...Obama...or some other. Refusal to pray for anyone perceived as an enemy serves an injustice to our own faith.

I agree. I am surprised by the negativity to this. Well like Mike Reagan says, “We all have our issues”.

Negativity? Oh well 'Blogger' daily post is kinda annoying. If he's referring to Romans 13:1, "Everyone must submit to governing authorities. For all authority comes from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God" (NLT), Barack Obama is not the authority yet. We'll still have to wait if there will be final verdict from the Supreme Court of the United States whether he is ineligible or not.

Regarding praying for Obama, since the conversation has continued on a thread marked prayer (which according to Free Republic rules should be free from debate - check link above), I would have you all read these Scriptures.

I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for ALL MEN; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. (1 Timothy 2:1-4)

But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; (Matthew 5:44)

But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,(Luke 6:27)

But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.(Luke 6:25)

tomymind, thank you for the defense. I have been posting at Free Republic for over 10 years (earlier under different names, which I changed voluntarily- never banned & very rarely warned about anything). I am a Christian, Baptist, no Obot or Troll. As he is now, I believe he is an evil to this country. But, as my key verse says, the kings heart is in the hands of the Lord. He may not be ‘king’ yet, but as the verses above show, that is no excuse.
