They are not being discriminated against—they have all the rights to enter into a civil, contractual arrangement with each other that protects their property, their medical wishes, even their expectations regarding fidelity. They want to change the meaning of a word to encompass something it cannot. Marriage is defined as a holy union between a man and a woman.
Sex has always had its perversions. But for most people, at least for now, they wish to keep the sanctity of the definition for marriage. I’m proud of Christians, black and white, for standing up this time. We failed to do so in 1973 when Roe v. Wade passed, and we have been sliding down that slippery slope ever since. We must continue to stand firm on these principles or we will lose them all.
I know that, you know that, but they don’t see it that way and you can’t reason with them.
The only thing that has even come close to working is pointing out that they are asking for the right to let ‘big brother’ know their sexual orientation and have a list of who is gay... the privacy issue does spook them.
