To a large extent, it is up to us, the faithful. Almost entirely, I'd say, given the extent to which we outnumber the clergy, and the variety of solid teaching materials available to us.

We could use some lessons from our Orthodox brethren. They have no qualms about divesting themselves from unOrthodox bishops.
