I think there are more of us here than that. There are plenty of false believers who think that Obama's election is a sign that God hates them or hates America. People need to understand that God doesn't have a relationship with them because they are American. He has a relationship with them because they are Christian or Jewish.

God was around long before the United States existed, and He will be around long after the United States has passed into history.

True. Also to the point of this election, I have a black friend in her 70s who told me she has never had any overt problem of racial discrimination except once, in the 70s, involving a white man in her home town, a Vietnam vet, who opened his bowling alley to blacks — when she and her friends went there, white vigilantes turned them away, and eventually drove the bowling alley man out of business. Other than that, she claims Christ's blessings every day of her life, in spite of her relative material poverty due to having been widowed. She is one of my closest friends, and we have prayed together throughout this election season. For all I know, she voted for Obama, and if she did, I understand and cannot hold it against her. It's the deluded privileged classes who have mystified me; again, God is in control.
