“Barabbas means son of shame”
hmmm...I thought it meant “son of the father”

Among his many other uniformed postures, Obama claimed that "Barak" meant "blessed"; however, it is a separate Hebrew name from "Baruch", which does mean "blessed." "Barak" refers to a man who aided the prophetess Deborah in slaying the armies of Sisera after the people of Israel had strayed. (Judges 4 and 5).

could only find that one site that you posted, defining it as you have.

All other references are clear that it means “son of the father”.

BAR = “son of”
ABBAS = “father”
