Thanks for this NYer!! As a Mormon, I wholeheartedly agree. The principle of enduring to the end and keeping the commandments are essential. I was just involved in another thread about the blessings we receive when we keep the commandments and repent of our sins. I'll post that again here.

Thanks!!

(From another post)
Firstly, if one wants to know what one has to do to receive blessings, the Sermon on the Mount is a great place to start. “Blessed” are the ... etc, etc...

If one wants to to see the opposite, the consequences of sin, start at Sodom and Gomorrah, or even back further to the flood of Noah.

Looking at the world today, the spread of pornography, lasciviousness, homosexuality, and all sorts of carnal delights of the world, I have no doubt what is in store for the world. Clearly a validation of the writings of John.

Here's a few more verses that help explain the position of the LDS, as well as other Christians not of your persuasion.

Prov. 14: 34 Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.

Deut. 6: 24
24 And the Lord commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the Lord our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.

Deut. 11: 27
27 A blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you this day:

6 Blessings are upon the head of the just: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.

Deut. 9: 4 For my righteousness the Lord hath brought me in to possess this land: but for the wickedness of these nations the Lord doth drive them out from before thee.

Isa. 26: 2 Open ye the gates, that the righteous nation which keepeth the truth may enter in.

Acts 10: 35 But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.

Ps. 1: 6. For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.
