And the one I like best: Bishops listed by state
Please notify me via FReepmail if you would like to be added to or taken off the Catholic Action Ping List.
I sent it to the priest who had e-mailed me to support Obama based on his "pro-life position.
Needless to say, no response.
Thanx for the info.
Newark is still missing. And I had heard such good things about Archbishop Myers, particularly his cleaning out Immaculate Conception Seminary. I wonder what’s up.
I thought I saw something that Newark was on it now. I’ll be back after 6:00 pm Mass.
Milwaukee WI missing in action.
I nearly fell out of my pew on Sunday as this letter was read aloud during announcements. I, too, had thought that Dolan was MIA.
Glad to read it but he wasn’t quite as forceful about Catholics voting for the abortionist as was others.
Are Roman Catholics going to listen?
We will have to see, but at this juncture I believe they are listening. Our priest has been harping about voting for LIFE.
What about at your church?
My priest too, but he always is, he’s one of the oldest and most orthodox priests in the entire Archdiocese (Portland, OR). However, my Mom and my sister, both in east bay San Francisco region of California, say in their parishes the topic has NEVER EVEN COME UP! I guess the bishop there has been too busy putting the finishing touches on his multi-million dollar Crystal Cathedral (which Mom says looks like a glass nuclear power plant!).
Didn’t realize that SanFrancisco was getting a new cathedral. At least it won’t be the ugly box building that LA Archdiocese has.
Will be interesting to see pictures when it is finished.
Oh, sorry not to be clear, it’s actually in Oakland, Vigneron’s diocese. They just finished it, I think the consecration Mass was only a few weeks ago. Like the Taj Mahony, it’s been controversial for the architecture. The inside is just like a huge airplane hanger or something, it’s weird. The name is “Cathedral of Christ the Light” I believe.
My guesstimate is about 80-20 for McCain. Our Pastor has been very forceful about protecting life. It is a large non-denominational church in Chicago very much in tune with Baptist principals. My Black friends at church are very conflicted (usually means they will vote Obama any way)a few though have said they won't vote for Obama.
In the end I think this may be an issue where church discipline has to be reasserted.

The REAL ones will.
I think you are right. What about those that don't?
I'm not RC. I am a Baptist. I think this question is not limited to any one church, but all Christian churches. What about those members who go and vote for a candidate that supports infanticide. Is this an issue for church discipline, or is it one where we should just admonish these individuals to examine their hearts.
Bishop Gerald Barnes of the San Bernardino/Riverside Diocese in Southern California has spoken out in three issues of the diocese monthly newsletter which can be accessed on the right side of the diocese website at http://www.indiotrails.com/our-plan/
See the July, September and October issues. His articles also relate to the gay marriage proposition on the CA ballot as well as other propositions.
I’m old school Catholic.
I think people who vote for baby killers should be excommunicated.
