Yes I am constantly amazed at how our “betters” in the media consistenly print nonsense when it comes to the basic tenets of the Catholic faith.
If there is one thing that one should understand about Catholicism it is our understanding of the Eucharist. It would seem that if a reporter is going to write about events pertaining to the church he should know at least that.
But I guess basic liberal education (original meaning) is no longer taught at our fine universities.
Only at a minority of universities. However, you'd think anyone who was writing an article and came to a term he didn't know, such as "Communion," would think to call a knowledgeable source, say the Chancery's information number, and ask. Or use an obvious source like the Catechism online.
But no, just make something up ...
