You're asking for trouble reading those books. You might be tempted to take something literally without asking for the permission of some atheist "scholar" somewhere.
I won't attempt to speak for protestants; their motivations are a mystery to me.
Perhaps they simply can't bear the intellectual dishonesty of believing in medieval miracles while simultaneously denying Biblical ones simply because of a grudge with Martin Luther.
I can't assess your motivations for entering those falsehoods into this forum. I note, however, that the prohibition on bearing false witness is absolute.
What falsehoods? If you believed in the historicity of Genesis 1-11 you'd have answered my simple question. Your refusal to do so was a tacit admission. And you already told me once that you reject literal six day 6000-year creationism.
In order to bear false witness one must first say something that isn't true.
That is a falsehood.
You asserted that Catholics view the Bible as being "closely associated" with the "other side" (presumably protestants).
That is also a falsehood.
"Perhaps they simply" ... "tacit admission."
Your mind-reading skills are astonishing. I'll leave that bit entirely to you.

I read Genesis, Exodus, and Numbers, too. Among others. Oooooohhhhh ... Scaaaaaarrrrry.
